Disclaimer: I got most of my facts from The Holy Bible. I have added Bible references in the places where I have specific facts. Everything else I completely imagined. To be honest, I’m sure the New Earth is actually going to be way more interesting, awesome and full of God’s majesty than I show here. So enjoy, but do so with an open mind.
Horse sighs and murmurs came from the barn and made me giddy. I bounced on my toes as we stopped to pet each one.
“Addison! You should take this Appaloosa. She’s real sweet…. All of them are!” Joy’s eyes were lit up like a fire.
“Oh and Troy, that red bay one, will be great for you, Aiyden.”
We each walked over to the horses and let them out of the stalls.
My Appaloosa had a brown face and legs. Her body was white with chocolatey brown speckles.
“What’s her name?” I asked as I ran my hand along the mare’s back.
“Feel free to name her. I just call her ‘Spotty’ but I haven’t quite decided.” Joy replied, pulling herself onto a pure black Mustang.
“How about Cookie?” Aiyden rode his red bay horse up to us.
“Aw! That’s perfect, Aiyden!” Joy nodded, agreeing.
“I like it!” I said, jumping and pulling myself onto Cookie’s spotted back.
The three of us rode our horses out of the barn and through a huge field of tiny yellow flowers. I stopped and turned around just to see the area we were in. Aiyden and Joy pulled up beside me.
On our left stood a cliff. To the front and right were two large snow capped mountains.
This place was…. So vast and I guess I couldn’t ever comprehend it before. I expect I won’t ever stop learning about this world.
You know, on the Old Earth, I imagined this new place to be…. Very boring. I don’t know. I just didn’t expect something so brilliant. So… interesting. And detailed.
“It’s so…. Indescribable.” I didn’t realize I had said so aloud until Aiyden and Joy murmured their agreement.
After a few moments of staring in awe, the three of us decided to head to the Redwood forest.
“Redwoods are one of the tallest types of trees,” Joy said, the ecstatic energy building up as we spoke.
“Yeah, and I’m going to climb one!” Aiyden’s eyes were so huge with excitement that I thought they might pop out of his head!
“I wonder what kinds of birds and squirrels we’ll find nestled inside the trees.” Animals were one of my favorite things. Plants too. Also rocks, clouds, water…. Everything really.
The clomping of hooves filled our silence until Joy said,
“How far do you think we’ll be able to see from the treetops?”
“Miles I’ll bet.” Aiyden replied just as we rounded a corner.
In front of us lay a ginormous forest of Redwoods. They grew double the size of all the other trees! Oh, how cool it would be to climb them… (To be continued…)
