Hey! Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I’ve been pretty busy with life stuff but I’m back to posting weekly! (Hopefully) So here’s the next snippet of Indescribable.
Disclaimer: I got most of my facts from The Holy Bible. I have added Bible references in the places where I have specific facts. Everything else I completely imagined. To be honest, I’m sure the New Earth is actually going to be way more interesting, awesome and full of God’s majesty than I show here. So enjoy, but do so with an open mind.
I inhaled the sweet piney scent of the forest. I looked out at the earth far beneath me. My friends stood beside me on long, thick branches. Strength filled my lungs with every breath. Wind blew the hair from my face and I sighed happily. Standing above the earth in a 400 foot tall tree felt amazing. Like I could do anything. When I thought about it, I realized that it was true. I could do anything because God was here.
As we climbed down from the tree after chatting about the awesomeness of our God, I couldn’t help but let a thankful tear fall from my eyes. God had given us so much and done more than any of us understood yet.
“Where to next?” I wondered at the bottom.
“Cliff climbing” Said Aiyden as if he decided this forever ago.
“Cliff climbing… okay” I chuckled.
“Sounds fun!” Joy’s braids bounced as she got back on her horse. Aiyden and I got on ours and we raced our horses through to the other side of the forest.
“I heard there’s a mountain that way,” Aiyden pointed.
“Cool! Where there’s mountains there are probably cliffs to climb!” I replied.
My wavy brown hair flowed behind me as Cookie the horse moved fast below me.
Soon, the three of us arrived at a cliffside off the edge of a mountain, bigger than the one I stood on at the beginning of this adventure. The cliff was rocky and had many steep parts and few ledges to sit on. I was prepared. Joy, Aiyden, and I, dismounted our horses and let them graze while we walked closer to the cliff.
“I always wanted to do this.” Aiyden whispered, placing his foot on the first rock edge. Joy and I watched him make his way up higher until we decided to join him.
The cool rock felt firm underneath my grip. I pushed myself up the rock face, found another edge to grip, and pushed myself up again. As the three of us got higher, the wind became stronger. I could feel it press on my back. Aiyden was ahead of Joy and I. He eventually found a ledge big enough for the three of us to sit on. Joy and I caught up to him and sat down on the edge, looking out over the earth. We must have been a few hundred feet up the cliffside. The trees were far below and we could see out for miles.
“God is so big” I breathed.
“Yeah.” Aiyden and Joy agreed.
“He is.” A sudden new voice said, placing himself between Aiyden and I.
The three of us turned to look at this man with confusion, and then sudden recognition.
“Jesus!!!!” All of us exclaimed. (To be continued…)
