Meditation week 1, day 7

Today is the last day of Meditation week 1

As a reminder, this is the passage I am meditating on,

“This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.”. 1 John 1:5-7

Today, I’m going to put everything together that I got out of this verse.

So, this passage is a message, heard from Jesus, being told to us. We are being told that God is light. He shines everywhere and there is not a speck of darkness or evil in Him. If we say that we have a relationship with God even though we don’t follow His word (See my post, More Time to Act or to Be?) then we are living out lies instead of truth. But, if we do walk in the truth like Jesus did, we can have a relationship with one another and when Jesus died we became sinless in His eyes because He is light.

Hopefully that all made sense. I definitely got a lot out of the passage and thought about it a lot.

For week 2, I will be meditating on Romans 11:33-36(for the Seeds Family Worship songs is called God is Wise).

“Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?” “Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.”

Once again, I hope you join in! It’s okay if you join in late.

Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”.
